Just wanted to let everyone know that I'm still alive, sans 2 tonsils (can't wait to find out their dimensions/weight from the pathologist), after the procedure yesterday. I don't recommend this for the faint of heart; the procedure itself was nothing (getting the IV inserted was the hardest part of that) but the recovery is proving to be icky. I have these huge craters in the back of my mouth and everything around them is swollen. It looks like a melon baller was involved in the removal process. And I won't even try to describe the condition of the remaining flesh...

My folks have been wonderful in keeping me company, and helping me keep track of when to take pain meds (I've heard if you get behind and the pain catches up with you, it's really hard to get on top of it again). So the pain hasn't been horrible and I haven't been alone, which is great.

I have three more little containers of cinnamon applesauce left...and I hope by the time I've eaten them, I'll be ready for something with a little more nutritive value!

I'm glad things are going well for you! Here's to your recovery staying smooth...I guess this means you won't be at choir for a while though...how long until you can sing again?

Since talking hurts, I am more likely to e-mail. But I'm fine right now. My mom's still over and she's just made matzo balls, which I might not be ready for yet, but will be quite helpful as the week goes on.

Thank you for the offer though! Want to come over and hang out on Thursday?

Wow... Take care of yourself. I'm so glad you have plenty of friends and family around to make sure you're reasonably comfortable and entertained! Let me know if there's anything you need or any particular food you crave and I'll see what I can do about getting it for you. Rest well and let me know when you have time to hang out!

See, that's why you're supposed to have your tonsils out when you're a little kid and less likely to remember/dwell on the gory details ... yeesh.

Feel better as soon as possible!
