The barista at Starbucks asked me this morning what I'm most thankful for, and I knew the answer right away: I'm thankful for my fabulous job, where I have a whole library of my own, cool co-workers and an amazing boss, and I help make patients' stay at Mendota better. I use my professional powers for good. I am so lucky.
What are you most thankful for? (Like you aren't going to be asked that by minimum 6 people today. Well, you don't need to answer unless you feel like it.)
I slept until 11 today. I'm at my folks' house and my sister and her fiance have come up from Atlanta. Colleen de Loon is snuggling with my sister's stuffed cat. Dad is cooking and Steve and my Mom are discussing orthodox Jewish rules about swimming on the Sabbath. (No use/building of rafts, no swimming in natural bodies of water, and if there is a chance you might splash or displace water outside the eruv--the "home border" beyond which you can't go on Shabbat--you can't swim in a pool.) It's about as interesting as it gets in my family. It's enough for me right now.
Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!
