After ten years of dial-up internet access... [Sep. 18th, 2006|03:47 pm]
Eliane/Jennifer
[mood |cheerfulcheerful]
[music |Tally Hall, "Good Day"]

I am so very proud of myself: I now have high-speed internet. The UPS person delivered the modem package around 2, and I had it up and running in half an hour. I have been listening to my LaunchCast Plus station on the highest-quality setting (on dial-up, even the low setting would pause and stutter) and generally enjoying how fast everything is loading.

Oh, and it's been a joy to watch the Moo..BOOM videos from Coronation this weekend (which would have taken a half-hour each on dial-up):

The second is from a slightly different perspective, and includes more crowd commentary, and a slow-motion replay at the end.

Their Majesties may be trying to tone down the Siegfried's Mighty Fist references during this reign, but they've just gotten themselves a possibly more infectious bit of shtick for people to reference. Ah well--it's like I always say: shtick makes the world go 'round!

What... the...
For those of us who are out of the MooBOOM loop: what did we just witness? Why did their Majesties ... blow up ... a cow?

Even now, I am not entirely sure...after witnessing it once in person, and thrice on the internet...!

Actually, I believe there was some sort of statement Gwyneth had made in the wee hours of the night at an event years ago, to the effect that she liked to blow stuff up, and a cow might be fun, and if she ever got to be Queen, she could blow stuff up whenever she liked. The wrong people apparently got wind of these statements, and made it happen in Vermillion, South Dakota this past weekend at Coronation.

Actually, it was from a passing comment she made at Ages of War (June 2006) and so the "wrong people" made it happen. :)

Yay on the DSL...now you can listen to our radio station! Legatocafe.net. I was thinking of you today...I ordered Owain Phyfe's "Where Beauty Moves and Wit Delights". I can't wait to get it in. :)
